The First Lady of Migori County Dr. Agnes Ochilo today joined H.E. First Lady of the Republic of Kenya, Mama Rachel Ruto, for the official launch of the Bondo Kosiemo Comprehensive School Water Project in Kanyasa Ward, Nyatike Constituency a landmark initiative aimed at enhancing access to clean and safe water for both students and the surrounding community.
Speaking at the event, the Migori County First Lady emphasized the importance of clean water access in learning institutions, highlighting the project’s potential to positively impact education and community health.
“Access to clean water is essential for every school. It ensures a healthy, clean learning environment and improves student attendance and performance,” she stated. “This project will benefit not only the school but also the surrounding community, offering reliable access to safe water and reducing the burden on families.”
The project, which was officially commissioned by H.E. Rachel Ruto, is expected to transform the daily lives of hundreds of students and local residents who have long struggled with water scarcity. It aligns with ongoing efforts to integrate water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) programs into education and public health strategies in the region.
The Migori County First Lady commended the collaborative efforts of all partners involved and reaffirmed her office’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote education, health, and dignity for all residents of Migori.
