Migori Governor Dr. Ochilo Ayacko, accompanied by Rongo MCAs, led the distribution of cheque slips to 147 women groups in a spirited event aimed at boosting women-led economic activities at the grassroots level. The occasion was marked by joy and celebration, as women gathered to receive much-needed financial support to enhance their small enterprises and community projects.

Governor Ayacko reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to inclusive development, emphasizing that women are central to building strong, self-reliant communities. “These funds will not only improve livelihoods but also foster lasting resilience among our women,” he said. The initiative is part of a broader county strategy to empower women economically, promote self-employment, and reduce poverty across Migori.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the support, many noting that the funds would help expand their businesses, from farming and retail to tailoring and group savings ventures. Leaders present commended the governor for putting women at the center of development, reinforcing the message that no woman should be left behind in Migori County’s journey toward sustainable growth.
