Migori County First Lady Dr. Agnes Ochilo attended the Education and Prize-Giving Day at Rinya Mixed Secondary School, followed by a Cultural Extravaganza at Ulanda Girls in Awendo Sub-County. The events celebrated not only academic excellence but also the rich cultural heritage of the region. Students, teachers, parents, and local leaders gathered in large numbers to recognize achievement and foster pride in learning and identity.
Dr. Ochilo was accompanied by several dignitaries, including Prof. Rose Ogwang Odhiambo, Chief Officer for Gender, Culture, and Inclusivity; Mr. Joseph Kaguri, Director of Education; and Mr. Elisha Mitula, Sub-County Administrator. The leaders praised the dedication of teachers and the impressive academic milestones reached by the students. The cultural performances showcased the diversity and talent within the schools, adding colour and meaning to the occasion.
In her remarks, Dr. Ochilo emphasized the importance of nurturing young minds through education while embracing cultural values.
