The directorate focuses on creating a more inclusive and equitable society, addressing gender-based discrimination and empowering marginalized groups. Through its initiatives, the sector aims at fostering a society where everyone has equal opportunities and rights. The section also deals with promotion of cultural diversity for development.
The priorities for the Gender inclusivity directorate include;
- Policy, legislations, standards and guidelines for gender
- Quality maternal health care and nutrition, HIV Tests, counselling and Care.
- Gender- responsive education systems and equitable education for all and lifeskills.
- Addressing violence against girls, boys, women, men and harmful practices like FGM, partner violence, rape, child abuse, teen pregnancies, sexual exploitation and domestic violence.
- Equitable water, sanitation and Hygiene systems including menstrual hygiene.
- Gender responsive economic and social protection systems and gender responsive care including entrepreneurship and empowerment of women, youth and people living with disability
- Establish constituency women, youth and PLWD economic empowerment centers.
- Gender analyses, programmatic monitoring, data, research and evidence to support gender equality and results
