I received a delegation from UNICEF, alongside Migori Woman Representative Hon. Fatuma Mohamed. This meeting served as an opportunity to discuss and reinforce our ongoing collaboration in addressing critical issues affecting our community.
UNICEF has been a steadfast partner in our shared mission to combat Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), Gender-Based Violence (GBV), early pregnancies, and to enhance maternal and child health services across Migori County. Their commitment to improving the lives of our citizens, particularly our women and children, has been invaluable.
We will deepen our partnership with UNICEF and other like-minded organizations to construct a rescue center for victims of GBV and FGM across the county in Nyatike. This facility will provide a safe haven and crucial support for survivors, ensuring they have access to the care and resources they need to rebuild their lives.
