Representatives from the Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (KETRACO) met with officials from the County Government of Migori to address the persistent issue of power outages that have been plaguing the region for far too long.
The KETRACO team, led by the General manager ENG. Kibias listened attentively as the county officials led by Deputy Governor Dr Mahiri outlined the challenges faced by residents due to frequent power losses.Dr Mahiri emphasized the negative impact of these outages on businesses, healthcare facilities, and everyday life in Migori. He stressed the urgent need for a reliable and stable power supply to support the county’s development and growth.
KETRCO team nodded in agreement, acknowledging the seriousness of the situation. They proposed a comprehensive plan to upgrade and expand the existing power infrastructure in Migori, including the installation of new transmission lines and substations to improve reliability and reduce losses.They agreed to form a joint task force to oversee the implementation of the proposed solutions and to monitor progress on a regular basis.
