The launch of the Mazingira Youth Program is a pivotal initiative that not only fulfills our manifesto on youth empowerment but also addresses the vital issues of environmental conservation and hygiene within our markets and towns.
Under this program, 400 dedicated youths, drawn from the 40 wards of Migori, will be provided with gainful employment opportunities. Each ward has contributed 10 youths, forming a formidable team that will collaborate with the county’s Department of Environment, Climate Change, and Natural Resources. The program will focus on various tasks such as garbage collection, unblocking blocked waterways, and ensuring the proper disposal of waste materials.
We firmly believe that the Mazingira Youth Program will serve as a catalyst for change, setting an example for other counties to emulate in their pursuit of youth empowerment and sustainable environmental practices. This noble endeavor aligns perfectly with our vision for a greener, cleaner, and healthier future for all residents of Migori County.
