In efforts to enhance educational resources and foster a culture of reading in Migori County. The Migori County Government, through the Department of Education, Sports, Youth Affairs, Gender Inclusivity, and Social Services, in partnership with the Rotary Club, this morning conducted an inspection of the upcoming Public Library located in the Msomii building, Migori Town.
This state-of-the-art facility has been stocked with an impressive collection of 30,000 books, spanning a wide range of subjects and educational levels. From early childhood education (ECDE) to junior and senior school curricula, as well as resources for tertiary and vocational institutions, we are committed to providing quality educational materials for all. Additionally, the library will offer a rich selection of materials for adult education, including novels, scholarly articles, and various educational resources.
This institution is set to be fully launched in July 2026. The completion of this project will not only bring a wealth of knowledge to our community but will also include the installation of cutting-edge ICT infrastructure. This integration of technology will ensure that our residents have seamless access to information and scholarly materials, fostering an environment of intellectual growth and lifelong learning.
