Migori County Governor H.E Dr. Ochilo Ayacko has highlighted the positive impact of the Financing Locally–Led Climate Action (FLOCCA) program, noting that it is significantly improving livelihoods and strengthening climate resilience across the county.
Speaking while appearing before the Senate Committee on Environment and Natural Resources, the Governor explained how the program has enabled the county to implement several development projects aimed at supporting communities facing climate-related challenges.
The FLOCCA program, which is co-funded by the National Treasury, the World Bank, and the County Government of Migori, has so far facilitated the implementation of ninety-eight (98) transformative projects across different parts of the county.
According to Governor Ayacko, the projects are already delivering tangible benefits to residents. They are helping communities adapt to climate change, improve livelihoods, and promote sustainable development through initiatives that support agriculture, water access, and environmental conservation.
He emphasized that the program demonstrates how collaborative partnerships between national government, county governments, and development partners can bring meaningful change to local communities.
The Governor further noted that Migori County remains committed to ensuring that the projects continue to deliver long-term benefits, strengthen climate resilience, and improve the overall well-being of residents.
