Migori County Governor H.E Dr. Ochilo Ayacko has hosted President William Ruto at Migori Airstrip to inspect the ongoing construction of a new, modern, state-of-the-art terminal building, noting that the project marked a significant milestone for aviation infrastructure and the broader economic landscape of Migori County.
The governor explained that two years earlier, his administration had invested in a smaller terminal, which had effectively handled passenger traffic, but added that the continued growth of the community and economy had made the need for a more advanced facility increasingly clear.
He further stated that the construction of the new terminal would streamline passenger services and improve cargo handling capabilities, thereby boosting trade and tourism potential in Migori. He added that integrating modern technology and design into the air transport system would better position the county to attract more airlines, increase air traffic, and enhance connectivity to national and international markets.
