Launch of Governor’s Scholarship for continuing students

Today,H.E Governor DR.Ochilo Ayacko presided over the launch of Governor’s Scholarship for continuing students.The scholarship is worth Ksh.14,385,000 and is expected to benefit 410 students spread across 105 Secondary schools within the country.

The Governor further launched the distribution of bursaries worth Ksh.34 million to several Technical,Vocational and Educational Training Colleges within the county.He took his time to visit and present bursaries running into millions at Migori TVET where all the TVETS from Suna East Constituency had gathered to receive the cheques .He later wound up his productive day in Suna West Constituency at God Kweru TVET where he presented cheques belonging to all institutions within the Subcounty.

Tomorrow,the Governor and his team will be visiting TVETS in Rongo, Awendo and Uriri constituencies to present bursary cheques to thousands of beneficiaries drawn from the colleges within the above-mentioned constituencies.On Tuesday next week,the governor will have a similar function in Kuria East ,Kuria West and Nyatike Constituencies.

This is a realization of the Governor’s campaign promise where he swore to provide access to education for needy students in our midst once he assumed office by broadening and expanding the Governor’s Scholarship program to even include those in village polytechnics and TVETS.
