Migori County Commences Distribution of Certified Maize Seeds to 6,300 Farmers

The County Government of Migori has commenced the distribution of certified maize seeds to farmers across the county as part of efforts to boost agricultural production and strengthen food security during the ongoing short rains season. The exercise is expected to benefit 6,300 farmers, with a total of 35,000 kilograms of certified maize seeds set to be distributed. The initiative is projected to place approximately 7,400 acres of land under agricultural production. The seed distribution programme aims to support farmers by providing quality inputs that can improve crop productivity and maximize agricultural yields. Speaking on the initiative, the Governor reaffirmed the County Government's commitment to supporting farmers, noting that investment in agriculture remains key to improving livelihoods and driving economic growth across the county.
