CECM Caleb Opondi, from the Department of Environment, Climate Change, Natural Resources, and Disaster Management, led his department on sensitizing Migori County Cabinet members about two crucial policies: the Migori County Disaster Management policy and the Migori County Sustainable Forest Development policy.

These policies aim to mitigate risks from natural and human-induced disasters, safeguarding social, economic, and environmental assets. By adopting an integrated multi-hazard Disaster Risk Management (DRM) approach, Migori County can enhance resilience and response capabilities. Additionally, efforts to promote sustainable forest development will increase forest cover, preserve biodiversity, and mitigate climate change, ultimately benefiting communities and ecosystems in Migori County.
