The CeCM in charge of Agriculture Livestock Fisheries and Blue Economy Hon Lucas Mosenda officially closed a 3 day worshop for cassava seed entrepreneurs who bulk cassava seed and processors who undertake value addition on the crop. The workshop was organised by Self Help Africa Kenya , a trusted partner of the agric department. Through this partnership, the farmers will continue to Access disease free seed varieties/cultivars that are resistant to cassava mosaic virus that has been the leading cause of decline in production not just in Migori County, but across this region. Our farmers therefore have a reason to smile and get back to planting this important crop in effort to mitigate against the impact of climate change. This administration, under the leadership of HE Dr Ochilo Ayacko is all out to ensure our farmers get the best services to guarantee our household food and nutrition security as well as sustainable income
