Mama Agnes Ochilo, together with the Second Lady Dorcas Gachagua, MP Hon. Maisori Kitayama, and other esteemed county officials, visited Kendege Men’s Prison in Kuria East.Their visit was marked by a momentous event, the planting of trees within the prison grounds.
During the visit, they engaged in conversations with the prisoners. They listened to their stories, hopes, and fears. It was an eye-opening experience that highlighted the importance of prison reform and rehabilitation. It reminded them of the strength of the human spirit and the potential for redemption and second chances.
From Kendege Men’s Prison, they proceeded to St Joseph Ntimaru Secondary School. They firmly believe that education is the foundation on which prosperous societies are built. By visiting the school and participating in a joint tree planting session, they aimed to impress upon the students the significance of environmental stewardship and empower them to become guardians of our planet. These young minds will shape the future, and it is our responsibility to provide them with the knowledge and tools to create positive change.
