H.E Governor Ochilo Ayacko of Migori County on Monday morning held a meeting with Energy Cabinet Secretary Hon. Opiyo Wandayi at Kawi House in Nairobi, where they discussed ongoing efforts to improve energy access in the region.
H.E Governor Ayacko said their discussions focused on the planned upgrade of the Gogo Hydro Power Plant, a project he described as vital to transforming the energy landscape in Migori.
The governor noted that the meeting signified their shared commitment to enhancing electricity accessibility and fostering sustainable development through strategic partnerships.
He expressed optimism about the collaboration with the Ministry of Energy, stating that both levels of government were aligned in their vision to bring the long-awaited project to completion. Governor Ayacko emphasized that the Gogo upgrade would significantly improve the region’s energy infrastructure, boosting local industries and livelihoods.
The Energy CS, on his part, reaffirmed the Ministry’s support for county-level energy initiatives and lauded Migori’s proactive approach to development.
