H.E Governor Dr. Ochillo Ayacko pledged to support the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME). By fully supporting 6 exhibitors to Burundi for the EAC MSME conference, he has allowed them to market their products, find new markets, create linkages, learn innovations, and exchange ideas on the current market trends.
The exhibitors displayed their products and marketed them well to find their way into EAC markets. One such product that has found its way to the EAC market is the Edible sunflower oil grown, processed, and manufactured in Migori. Great sales of the product have been observed which is very impressive, a clear indication that this could find new markets within EAC and beyond.
Later in the day, the Migori team was visited by the PS state dept for MSME Development Madam Susan Auma Mang’eni together with the Kenyan Ambassador to Burundi among other guests. The CECM together with the Director, HOD, and her team of exhibitors took time to take the PS through their display one by one while discussing opportunities for expansion and areas of support and collaboration from the national government.
The PS was impressed by our exhibitions and promised to support our SMSE with production equipment and Capacity building.
