The Sports department headed by Waziri Rahab Robi and Chief Officer Prof. Rose Odhiambo held a meeting to brief the County Executive on the level of preparedness for the commencement of the Governor’s cup which is expected to kick off from 17th November to 7th December 2023.The Governor’s Cup will run in all the 40 Wards upto the County level where the finals will be held at Migori stadium,graced by H.E Dr. Ochilo Ayacko, EGH.
The department assured the Executive wing that they are fully prepared for the commencement of the inaugural Governor’s Cup after addressing various aspects such as infrastructure, logistics, security, and promotion to ensure a smooth,enjoyable and a well-attended tournament.
The County Executive led by County Secretary Dr.Oscar Olima expressed appreciation for the department’s efforts and encouraged them to continue their diligent work. He emphasized the importance of hosting a successful event that showcases the county’s sporting talent and promotes unity among the residents.
