Governor Ochilo Ayacko led a delegation from Migori County to a meeting with the Principal Secretary for Water and Sanitation, Julius Korir, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Nairobi.
The discussions centered on improving water connectivity and expanding sewerage systems in both urban and rural areas to ensure residents have access to safe and reliable water supply.
Dr. Ochilo expressed his gratitude to the State Department for selecting Migori County as one of the 19 pioneer counties benefiting from the ongoing Kenya Water and Sanitation Program (K-WASH), funded by the World Bank in collaboration with the Ministry. He welcomed the Ministry and the World Bank team to Migori next week for their scheduled working visit, set to commence on Monday, 10th March 2025.
The K-WASH program is designed to enhance access to clean water and sanitation services in rural areas and informal settlements while also strengthening the capacity of water service providers. This initiative aims to improve the sustainability and efficiency of service delivery, ultimately benefiting communities across Migori County.
