H.E Dr. Ochilo Ayacko today received a courtesy call from the National Land Commission (NLC), led by Chairman Mr. Gershom Otachi, to deliberate on the management and regularization of key public land parcels within the county.
The discussions centered on critical land parcels, including Muhuru Pier, Macalder Public Land, Canaan Land, and Lichota Airport land, among others. The meeting provided an opportunity to outline the respective roles, duties, and action plans between Migori County and the Commission to ensure effective utilization of these lands for the benefit of residents.
Governor Ayacko emphasized the county’s commitment to working closely with the NLC to resolve long-standing disputes and unlock the potential of these parcels for public use and economic growth.
“We appreciate the National Land Commission’s efforts to regularize these lands and resolve disputes surrounding them. This will help us maximize their benefits for the people of Migori,” Governor Ayacko noted.
The visit by the NLC underscores ongoing efforts to streamline land management, safeguard public assets, and foster sustainable development in Migori County.
