Governor Ochilo Ayacko Defends Migori County Accounts Before Senate Committee

Migori county Governor, H.E Dr. Ochilo Ayacko on Tuesday 26th August 2025  appeared before the Senate’s County Public Accounts Committee (CPAC), chaired by Senator Moses Kajwang’, to respond to the Auditor General’s report on county finances.

During the session, Governor Ayacko provided clarifications on Migori’s financial management, particularly focusing on the wage bill and pending bills. He highlighted that Migori County’s wage bill remains among the best nationally, reflecting prudent expenditure and fiscal discipline.

On pending bills, the governor reported significant progress, noting that the county has successfully settled over 80% of its outstanding obligations. The committee expressed satisfaction with the county’s explanations and progress made in addressing audit queries.

Governor Ayacko reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and service delivery. He assured residents that the county government remains focused on prudent financial management as a means of improving livelihoods and accelerating development across Migori.
