Expansion of Gogo Power Plant to Boost Migori County’s Energy Contribution and Socio-Economic Development

Migori County H.E Governor Dr. Ochilo Ayacko  has received a high-powered delegation from KENGEN, led by their Chairman, Hon. Alfred Agol Masadia, and Managing Director, Eng. Peter Njenga, this afternoon. The discussion focused on the expansion of the Gogo Power Plant on River Kuja, which is projected to be completed by early 2027. The team highlighted priority areas in Corporate Social Responsibility aimed at benefiting the communities around the Gogo Power Station. Dr. Ayacko noted that this expansion would not only enhance Migori County’s contribution to the national power grid but also bring socio-economic benefits to the local population. He emphasized that this project underscores Migori’s strategic role in Kenya’s energy sector.
