Girls face a range of challenges that can prevent them from accessing education or achieving their goals. These include poverty, discrimination, gender-based violence, and early marriage and pregnancy. By empowering girls and giving them the tools they need to succeed, we can build a brighter future for everyone.
In that regard, Migori County Government Department of Education joined students and teachers of Sakurri Girls School, in Kuria East in celebrating the International Day of Girl Child.
Migori County Department of Education is committed to promoting gender equality and empowering girls. The department is working to create a safe and supportive learning environment for all students and to provide girls with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive.
Present were, CECM for Education Hon. Rahab Robi, CECM Dr. Betty Samburu, Chief Officer Prof.Rose Odhiambo, Migori County Women Rep. Fatuma Mohammed, Representative from the Office of the Migori Senator, Masaba MCA Hon. Nyamohanga Maroa, and local leaders.
