ASDSP II focuses on building the capacity of various actors within priority value chains to overcome obstacles to commercialization. The program is a collaborative effort between the government of Kenya (both at the national and county levels) and the private sector, with the latter serving as either direct beneficiaries or service providers.
The four key result areas of ASDSP II are:
Increasing productivity in priority value chains.
Strengthening entrepreneurial skills of actors within priority value chains.
Improving access to markets for actors within priority value chains.
Enhancing structures and capacities for consultation, collaboration, cooperation, and coordination in the agriculture sector.
To achieve these, Migori ASDSP II office is actively engaged in supervising the progress of value chain organizations funded by the program in the county. This hands-on approach ensures that the investments made in various value chains are effectively utilized and that the objectives of the program are being met.
Such monitoring and supervision activities are essential for the successful implementation of agricultural development programs like ASDSP II
